Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she won an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Born as the only daughter to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney had a family of four brothers. Though she had a goal of becoming journalist, it was not until high school that Delaney began to model. When she moved away from New York City and gaining experience as a commercial model at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first role as an actor was as a teen innocent as a child in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Delaney was in numerous of television shows, films as well as dramas in the years since. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional life hasn't had a happy and successful. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past and has been through two failed marriages. Her custody in 2005 was taken away from her.
