Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn fame. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her songs online, including her independent single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. The following year, her music began to circulate throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On December 8, that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she co-wrote with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In October 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. In 2018, she was able to be a guest on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video then released in September. Then, on the 9th November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013 she released No One, and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16th, and she released the song in a solo version on her first album. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in one week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
